I watched an old episode of Spicks and Specks recently, which closed with this great Weird Al Yankovic clip.
It’s a parody of Bob Dylan’s Subterranean Homesick Blues and very clever.
Here’s an example from the lyrics.
Rise to vote, sir
Do geese see God?
Do nine men interpret? Nine men I nod
Rats live on no evil star
Won’t lovers revolt now?
Race fast safe car
According to Yankovic, “the writing of a brilliant palindrome is a small miracle, which deserves to be honored more than a lot of the stupid and inconsequential things we often celebrate in our culture.”
I really hope this song gets a remix in the upcoming Daniel Radcliffe biopic of Weird Al.
