About Louisa Coppel.
Hi. I’m Louisa, and it’s great to have you visit.
If you’ve seen, read, or heard something from me, here’s where you can learn more about who I am and what I do.
I love to work on things that make a difference. I want to make the world a better place. So I work with people and organisations that are doing just that. And I help them turn their good intentions into action.
I work with my clients to shape new strategies, wrangle existing strategies back on track and on target, and write compelling communications that land with their target audience.
My clients tell me I help them get clear. And they love that I challenge their thinking (respectfully).
What I love is the ‘aha’ moment with my clients, when a path forward suddenly makes sense.
I live in Melbourne (Naarm) and work around Australia.
My Journey
Before setting up my practice, I worked in government, the arts, and not-for-profit organisations for many years.
I was Victoria’s film commissioner for five years, selling my home state internationally as a great place to make television and movies.
I’m currently the Chair of Docklands Studios Melbourne.
I’ve run radiothons and fundraising events, led tour groups and shared stories from the field for Community Aid Abroad (now Oxfam Australia).
But life is about so much more than work and balance matters.
I’m also an enthusiastic volunteer and have been on a number of boards.
I regularly give a hand to an animal rescue group but the love of my (volunteering) life is Camp Cooinda on Victoria’s Gippsland Lakes.
Every summer, I volunteer as a leader with Cooinda, where we help young people ‘grow inside, outside’. It’s a challenge and a joy.
It was a personal high to use my professional skills to guide Camp Cooinda from dependence on its remarkable founder into a contemporary, sustainable organisation. With a clear strategy and succession plan, Camp Cooinda will continue to thrive.
And that makes my heart sing.
Think I can help make your heart sing? I’d love to chat.
