I developed a public education campaign strategy with Amaze, Victoria’s peak autism body. 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 launched yesterday with $2.8m funding from the Victorian Government.
Some extraordinary research commissioned by Amaze informed 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔.
It shows autism awareness in the community is through the roof, with 98% of Australians having heard of it. But there’s a yawning gap between that awareness and true understanding, which makes autistic people and their families feel unwelcome, isolated and judged for their differences.
