If you take the time to read it, and think about it, and act on it, and share it, we can make the world a little bit better.

Because little changes to our behaviour can make a big difference to an autistic person, who can’t change.

I developed a public education campaign strategy with Amaze, Victoria’s peak autism body. π‘ͺπ’‰π’‚π’π’ˆπ’† 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 π‘Ήπ’†π’‚π’„π’•π’Šπ’π’π’” launched yesterday with $2.8m funding from the Victorian Government.

Some extraordinary research commissioned by Amaze informed π‘ͺπ’‰π’‚π’π’ˆπ’† 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 π‘Ήπ’†π’‚π’„π’•π’Šπ’π’π’”.

It shows autism awareness in the community is through the roof, with 98% of Australians having heard of it. But there’s a yawning gap between that awareness and true understanding, which makes autistic people and their families feel unwelcome, isolated and judged for their differences.

So please.

Read a little.

Watch a little.

Be a little kinder.
